The Buzz on Rae

Support Builds for the Vogeler Campaign!

Rae Vogeler is endorsed by Progressive Dane, the Progressive Democrats of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Green Party, the Green Party National Women's Caucus.

One of the largest union locals in Wisconsin - the Teaching Assistants' Association - AFT Local 3220, has endorsed Rae Vogeler for US Senate. The TAA has nearly 3000 members in the Madison area.

Cindy Sheehan endorses Rae, saying "We need to vote for candidates calling for peace"

The Lake Mills Leader, Cambridge News and Deerfield Independent newspapers have just endorsed Rae, saying Rae "is a thoughtful progressive in the same mold as three of the individuals who have occupied this particular seat in the United States Senate. We're specifically talking about Robert "Fighting Bob" La Follette Sr., his son Robert M. La Follette Jr. and William Proxmire. Unlike Kohl, who is nobody's senator but his own, they were giants in the U.S. Senate who always put the public's interest first." More

In addition, Herb Kohl’s Democratic Party primary opponent Ben Masel officially endorsed Rae on WORT radio in Madison. Masel earned over 14% (51,000+) votes in the primary. Libertarian write-in candidate for U.S. Senate, David Redick, also announced his support of Vogeler's stance on key issues this week.

Defend the Reputation of Our Country

"President Bush just signed into law a bill that eliminates the right of accused prisoners to challenge their detention in court. It also eliminates that same right for immigrants and non-citizens - including 12 million permanent residents - if they are declared "unlawful enemy combatants." The law lets President Bush decide what is and isn't torture (presumably because he's shown such good judgement and foresight in the past?). And our government is moving to legalize massive wiretapping programs on American citizens. More

Defeat the Gay Marriage Amendment

"I urge you to vote with me to defeat the proposed gay marriage amendment to our state's constitution. The amendment language is seen by legal experts as a threat not just to gay marriage but also to existing heterosexual domestic partner benefits and civil unions. More

Defeat the Death Penalty Referendum

With serious questions being raised about the death penalty’s enforcement, its constitutional basis, as well as no supporting evidence that it is a deterrent to crime, many people are actively seeking to rid the United States of this untenable practice. Among these people is Wisconsin Green Party Candidate for U.S. Senate, Rae Vogeler. More

Facing a War Without End

The Iraq war has cost too much, first and foremost in lives: 2,700 U.S. soldiers dead, 21,000 wounded, 46,000 Iraqi civilians killed—-and counting. The many other costs of the war are huge and rising. Iraqi society is in chaos. Electricity isn’t working and people die daily from unsafe drinking water. Violence continues to escalate. More

A Reason for Hope

Rae Vogeler says no to the war and yes to creating a society that cares as much for its everyday people as it does for its most privileged. She is running for the U.S. Senate in 2006 to replace Herb Kohl. More

Make Wisconsin a Leader Again

Rae’s opponent will be incumbent Herb Kohl, one of the richest of all U.S. Senators. Kohl’s Senate voting record shows his willingness to protect the wealth and privilege of the very rich and his willingness to put other people’s children in danger. In 2005, he voted to protect credit card companies by making it difficult for people to declare bankruptcy. He supported the billions of dollars given to oil companies and the nuclear industry in the energy bill. He helped pass enormous tax cuts for rich people like himself. And he continues to support the disastrous Iraq war. More
